Amy Rouse
- Since she was 5 years old, Amy has been performing in front of large audiences.
Getting her solo singing debut during Sunday mornings in church, Amy developed
her talent in various musicals such as Fiddler on the Roof and Little Mary
Sunshine, where she was cast as the lead. Amy was also once crowned Catfish
Queen in Middleport, Ohio, which BK does not let her forget.
As
a child music came naturally to Amy learning from her mother, an elementary
music teacher and music director at her local church. Upon a chance meeting
with BK, Amy found the outlet she was seeking where she could put her vocal
talents to productive use.
Amy states that her musical influences range from Patsy
Cline, Allison Krauss and the Dixie Chicks to AC/DC and Van Halen. When
not performing Amy enjoys running, competing in marathons and 10k events,
and hanging out with Megan (her golden retriever) and Little Man (her tuxedo
cat).
BK - Although
BK got his first guitar at age 8, his childhood dominated by athletics,
it wasn’t until high school that he became serious about actually
learning to play.
However, his musical awareness of rock and roll began at
an early age listening to Elvis, Elton John and the Beatles. Afterschool
and Saturday morning shows that featured the Monkees and the Bay City Rollers
were must see TV. It was when BK heard Creedence Clearwater Revival for
the first time that he knew he wanted to someday play rock and roll. Other
influences include Alice Cooper, Kiss, Journey, REO Speedwagon and Zepplin,
but it was Van Halen, who he considers the best rock group ever, that had
the most influence upon his decision to play the guitar.
When not gigging with Amy, BK enjoys traveling and playing
sports, although golf has admittedly become the sport of choice. In addition,
BK currently plays guitar in a three-piece group called Dirty Sanchez
